DENTON, Texas (Apr. 30)
– The TWU softball team will head west to Canyon, TX, to play in the 2015 Lone Star Conference Championship tournament this Friday and Saturday, May 1-2. The championship will be held at Schaeffer Park on the campus of West Texas A&M.
TWU, the No. 2 seed, and the host West Texas A&M, the No. 1 seed, will receive a bye in the quarterfinals. No. 3 Tarleton State will face No. 6 Texas A&M-Commerce in the first quarterfinal game at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 1, followed by No. 4 Cameron taking on No. 5 Angelo State at 1:30 p.m. in the second quarterfinal.
The Pioneers will face the winner of Tarleton State and Texas A&M-Commerce at 4:00 p.m. on Friday in the first semifinal game. WTAMU will take on the winner of Cameron and Angelo State in the second semifinal at 6:30 p.m. The tournament's championship game is scheduled for Saturday, May 2, at 2:00 p.m. with the winner receiving an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.
The WTAMU Athletic Media Relations Department will provide live stats and live video for all games during the championship tournament.
