DENTON, Texas (June 30) – The 2015-16 TWU basketball team will play 28 games during the regular season highlighted by 16 home games including nine before New Year's. The Pioneers will also play 10 road games and two neutral site games.
TWU will open the season in Wichita Falls, TX, at the Ashbrook Classic hosted by Midwestern State on Nov. 13-14. The Pioneers will face St. Mary's in the season opener on Nov. 13 and then take on Rogers State on Nov. 14.
TWU will make its home debut when they host their annual Marriott Champions Circle Pioneer Premiere on Nov. 21-22. The Pioneers will tip-off against a pair of 2015 NCAA Tournament Teams. TWU will take on Colorado Christian on Nov. 21 and Colorado State-Pueblo on Nov. 22.
The Pioneers will then head north to Ada, OK, to play East Central on Nov. 24 before hosting a four-game homestand. TWU will face Henderson State on Nov. 28, Texas Wesleyan on Nov. 30, Oklahoma Christian on Dec. 3 and wrap-up with Lemoyne-Owen on Dec. 5.
The Pioneers will play their final non-conference road game against another NCAA Tournament Team in Arkansas-Fort Smith on Dec. 12 before hosting their second four-game homestand. TWU will take on Wayland Baptist on Dec. 15 and then wrap-up its non-conference schedule against Oklahoma Baptist on Dec. 19. The Pioneers will open their LSC schedule against Tarleton State on New Year's Eve on Dec. 31 before hosting Midwestern State on Jan. 5.
TWU will head west to New Mexico to take on Eastern New Mexico on Jan. 5 and then host a pair of home games against West Texas A&M on Jan. 9 and Texas A&M-Commerce on Jan. 14. The Pioneers will play Tarleton State on Jan. 17 before hosting another home game against Texas A&M-Kingsville on Jan. 21.
Six of the next seven games will be on the road for TWU. The Pioneers will open a four-game road trip at Angelo State on Jan. 24 and then head to Cameron on Jan. 27, Midwestern State on Jan. 31 and Texas A&M-Commerce on Feb. 4. TWU will host Eastern New Mexico on Feb. 9 before playing its final two road games of the regular season at West Texas A&M on Feb. 13 and at Texas A&M-Kingsville on Feb. 18.
The Pioneers will close out the regular season with two games at Kitty Magee Arena. TWU hosts Angelo State on Feb. 21 and then face Cameron on Senior Day on Feb. 24.
The top eight teams in the final conference standings will earn a berth in the 2015 LSC Women's Basketball championship. The tournament will be played at the Allen Events Center for the third straight season on March 2-5.
