TWU Basketball Ready to Face Lubbock Christian in NCAA Tournament

DENTON, Texas (Mar. 9) –The TWU basketball team will face the No. 1 team in the nation, Lubbock Christian, in the 2016 NCAA South Central Region Tournament on Thursday, Mar. 10 at 6:00 p.m.  The tournament will be held at Rip Griffin Center on the campus of Lubbock Christian.
 
After posting a 21-9 overall record and an 18-9 record in the region, the Pioneers were rewarded with an at-large bid to the tournament as the eighth seed.  The winner TWU/LCU will advance to the semifinals on Friday, Mar. 11 at 7:30 p.m.  The championship game is scheduled for Sunday, Mar. 13 at 7:00 p.m.
 
Other first round match-ups include No. 3 West Texas A&M and No. 6 Colorado-Colorado Springs, No. 2 Colorado State-Pueblo and No. 7 Black Hills State and No. 4 Angelo State and No. 5 Colorado School of Mines.
