DENTON, Texas (Oct. 7, 2026) - The Texas Woman's basketball team returns to Denton Square this October to connect with the community and create excitement for the upcoming 2026-27 season.
The Pioneers will be a part of the third annual Nightmare on Elm St. event in conjunction with the City of Denton's "Thirty One Days of Halloween" festivities.
On Oct. 21, in partnership with the University of North Texas, the Pioneers will take over an outdoor court in downtown Denton.
Fans will have the opportunity to meet the 2026-27 TWU basketball team, which enters the season after capturing its fourth consecutive Lone Star Conference Regular Season title and third consecutive LSC Tournament championship.
The event will feature an outdoor basketball court on Elm Street between Hickory and Oak streets in downtown Denton. Attendees can interact with the Pioneers and enjoy an evening of basketball.
"Nightmare on Elm Street is such a fun opportunity for our team to connect with the Denton community and local kids,"said TWU Head Coach
Beth Jillson. "Bringing basketball to the downtown square creates an incredible atmosphere and allows us to share our excitement for TWU and the upcoming season. We encourage everyone to be in the square on Oct. 21. We are looking forward to another great event in partnership with UNT and the City of Denton."
The event is free and open to the public and will begin at 6 p.m. Additional event details will be announced at a later date.
