GREENWOOD, Indiana (April 15, 2026) - For the third consecutive season, a Pioneer has been named a College Sports Communicators Academic All-American.
Gabby Elliott earned Second Team Academic All-America honors for the first time in her final season with the Pioneers.
Elliott is majoring in kinesiology at TWU.
According to CSC, "Academic All-American is a title reserved for college student-athletes who perform at an elite level in their chosen sport and in the classroom." Established in 1952 and selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC), Academic All-America is the longest-running and premier award recognizing combined athletic and academic success across NCAA divisions, the NAIA, two-year colleges and Canadian institutions. The all-time list of more than 40,000 Academic All-Americans includes standout figures in sports, as well as leaders in medicine, business, science and the arts.
Elliott was named a 2025 CSC Academic All-District selection before advancing to the Academic All-America ballot. CSC members then voted to determine the Academic All-America teams.
"We couldn't be prouder of Gabby and what she's accomplished," head coach Beth Jillson said. "She's been a consistent leader for us, and the way she balances success on the court and in the classroom truly sets her apart."
The Division II Academic All-America program is financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure, assisting CSC with awards fulfillment for the 2025-26 program. Among the 15 members of the Division II women's basketball Academic All-America teams, six maintain a perfect 4.0 GPA. The first team holds an average GPA of 3.93, while the overall Division II team boasts a combined average GPA of 3.86.
In addition to her Academic All-America recognition, Elliott was named the Lone Star Conference All-Academic Player of the Year this season. She currently holds a 3.90 GPA.
