Dear Basketball,
To think we only met about six years ago will forever amaze me. I never saw you coming, and I never could have imagined the role you would play in my life. I didn't grow up playing you, and I definitely never imagined this would be my story. But now I see—you were never just a game. You were the instrument God used.
From only two years of homeschool high school basketball to graduating as a college athlete from a D2 college with one of the hardest conferences in the country, and to be apart of a winning program with the best teammates and coaches a girl could ask for… was never my plan. That was His.
Through you, God changed me. He showed me I'm capable of more than I ever believed. He taught me how to persevere, how to be resilient, and how to keep going even on the hardest days. He taught me how to shine His light no matter how I felt.
You gave me a community I had prayed for my whole life, friendships that will last forever, and experiences I never would've had without you. You opened doors I didn't even know existed.
But more than anything, through every high and every low, God used you to remind me where my strength comes from. It was never really about you—it was always about Him.
Thank you for being part of His plan and helping shape who I am today.
