Pioneers Head to Canyon, TX to Play in 2016 LSC Championship

DENTON, Texas (Apr. 28) TWU softball team will travel to Canyon, TX, to play in the 2016 Lone Star Conference Championship Tournament on April 29-30.  The tournament will be played at Schaeffer Park on the campus of West Texas A&M.
 
TWU, the No. 2 seed, will receive a bye in the quarterfinals along with the No. 1 seed West Texas A&M.  No. 3 Cameron and No. 6 Midwestern State will start things off in the first quarterfinal game at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 29.  No. 4 Texas A&M-Commerce will take on No. 5 Angelo State in the second quarterfinal game at 1:30 p.m.
 
The Pioneers will face the winner of Cameron and Midwestern State at 4:00 p.m. on Friday in the first semifinal game.  WTAMU will take on the winner of TAMUC and ASU in the second semifinal game at 6:30 p.m.  The conference championship game is scheduled for Saturday, April 30 at 2:00 p.m. with the winner receiving an automatic bid to the NCAA South Central Region Tournament.
 
All seven games will be streamed live free of charge through the LSC's GameCentral portal (http://portal.stretchinternet.com/lonestar).  In addition to supporting desktop and laptop computers, GameCentral's responsive design will support mobile devices as well (iPad, iPhones, Android).
