DENTON, Texas (Apr. 28)
– TWU softball team will travel to Canyon, TX, to play in the 2016 Lone Star Conference Championship Tournament on April 29-30. The tournament will be played at Schaeffer Park on the campus of West Texas A&M.
TWU, the No. 2 seed, will receive a bye in the quarterfinals along with the No. 1 seed West Texas A&M. No. 3 Cameron and No. 6 Midwestern State will start things off in the first quarterfinal game at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 29. No. 4 Texas A&M-Commerce will take on No. 5 Angelo State in the second quarterfinal game at 1:30 p.m.
The Pioneers will face the winner of Cameron and Midwestern State at 4:00 p.m. on Friday in the first semifinal game. WTAMU will take on the winner of TAMUC and ASU in the second semifinal game at 6:30 p.m. The conference championship game is scheduled for Saturday, April 30 at 2:00 p.m. with the winner receiving an automatic bid to the NCAA South Central Region Tournament.
All seven games will be streamed live free of charge through the LSC's GameCentral portal (
