The Pioneers embark on perhaps their most challenging road trip of the season to face two ranked opponents. TWU has won six of the last seven matches, with the only blemish a loss at West Texas A&M. Sophomore setter
Katy Ranes leads the Lone Star Conference in assists per set (10.85), and senior middle blocker
Haley Collins is number two in blocks/set (1.12). Senior outside hitter
Miri Shade is fourth in kills/set (3.30), and sophomore defensive specialist

TSU sits atop the conference standings at 10-1 with their only loss occurring back on Sept. 9 to Angelo State. Since then the TexAnns have strung together 11 straight wins. LSC Preseason Player of the Year and current Offensive Player of the Week Hailey Roberts is ninth in the nation in kills per set (4.49) that leads the league. Reigning LSC Setter of the Week Jordyn Keamo is second in aces per set (0.41), and teammate Blanca Izquierdo is seventh (0.34).

Miri Shade posted a season and team-high 17 kills along with a team-high 15 kills to lead Texas Woman's University in taking the first set over No. 14 Tarleton State Friday evening inside Kitty Magee Arena.
The Pioneers (2-7, 0-1 LSC) challenged the TexAnns (7-3, 1-0 LSC) in the four-set loss (25-21, 16-25, 21-25, 16-25) with
Katy Ranes tossing out a game-high 33 assists along with a pair of service aces, and
Briley Cole-Lewis registering nine kills.

About the Belles
Angelo State is looking to rebound from a pair of losses to Western New Mexico and Eastern New Mexico last weekend. Brianna Sotella is second in the LSC in kills per set (4.03), Micheala Sifuentes is second in digs per set (5.03), and Morgan Seaton and Anna Graham are fourth and fifth, respectively, in hitting percentage at .312 and. 310.

The Pioneers notched their biggest upset in program history this season Sept. 16 versus the Belles in a 3-2 victory. The Belles hold a 37-16 all-time record over the Pioneers in a series that began in 1976.

DENTON, Texas (Sept. 16, 2017) - Texas Woman's University volleyball defeated fifth-ranked Angelo State in five sets (25-18, 25-19, 19-25, 15-25, 15-12) Saturday afternoon inside Kitty Magee Arena to notch the biggest upset in program history.
Before the victory over ASU, the biggest win over a ranked opponent occurred during the 2013 season where the Pioneers beat No. 11 Washburn, 3-1. In the victory over the Belles (8-3, 1-2 LSC),
Miri Shade and
Haley Collins each recorded a team-high 12 kills, while
Kerstin Jenkins and
Briley Cole-Lewis added 11 apiece. Jenkins also tallied 17 digs for her third double-double of the year,
