Preview: Pioneers vs. Texas A&M-Kingsville, Southeastern Oklahoma State and Arkansas-Monticello

DENTON, Texas (Oct. 26, 2017) - Texas Woman's University volleyball hosts a trio of teams this weekend in Texas A&M-Kingsville, Southeastern Oklahoma State and Arkansas-Monticello.
 
About the Pioneers
The Pioneers are looking to bounce back from a tough week with losses at No. 13 Tarleton State, No. 22 Angelo State and Texas A&M-Commerce. Sophomore setter Katy Ranes leads the Lone Star Conference in assists per set (10.78), and sophomore defensive specialist Bailey French stands fourth in digs/set (4.62). Senior middle blocker Haley Collins is number four in blocks/set (1.12), while senior outside hitter Miri Shade is fourth in kills/set (3.21).

TAMUK is riding a three-game win streak with victories over Dallas Baptist, Eastern New Mexico and Western New Mexico. Haley Hutchinson is second in the LSC in hitting percentage (.323), while Lexi Wick is close behind in fourth (.317). Casey Klobedans sits third in assists/set (9.81), and Krystal Faison is third in aces/set (0.39).

Throughout the teams' 23-year old history, the Pioneers have won 38 of the 48 meetings, but the Javelinas have won the past three matches.

KINGSVILLE, Texas (Sept. 22, 2017) - Briley Cole-Lewis collected a career-high 16 kills and Miri Shade matched with 16 of her own, but Texas Woman's University fell 3-1 to Texas A&M-Kingsville Friday afternoon inside Gil E. Steinke Physical Education Center.
TWU (4-8, 2-2 LSC) performed well offensively by producing a season-best .281 attack percentage, while the Javelinas ((9-5 , 2-1 LSC) were slightly better at .289. Haley Collins totaled nine kills and five blocks, while Courtney Noel added nine kills for the Pioneers in the four-set loss (25-23, 23-25, 20-25, 20-25).

DURANT, Okla. (Oct. 29, 2014) – TWU freshman middle blocker Elizabeth Pennington had a game-high 20 kills and a .548 hitting percentage to help the Pioneers to a five-set win at Southeastern Oklahoma State on Wednesday night.  With the victory,TWU improved to 17-7 on the season and extended their season-high win streak to seven games in a row.
The Pioneers jumped out to a two games to none lead but were forced to rally in the fifth set for a 25-19, 25-18, 23-25, 20-25 and 17-15 win.

DENTON, Texas (Sept. 4) – The TWU volleyball team opened the 2015 season with two wins at the Hilton Garden Inn Classic in Kitty Magee Arena. The Pioneers were led by newcomers junior Sara Oxford and freshman Makayla Mayfield.
TWU swept Arkansas at Monticello in straight sets, 25-20, 25-15 and 25-19 and then defeated Harding in four sets, 27-25, 25-22, 19-25 and 25-15.
Playing in their first career game in Maroon and White against UAM, Mayfield and Oxford both recorded double digit kills.  In her first collegiate game, Mayfield led all players with 11 kills and led the team with 18 digs. Oxford added 10 kills while senior Torie Talkington chipped in 15 digs after starting as a libero for the first time in her career.
