DENTON, Texas (Nov. 16, 2017) - Sixth-seeded Texas Woman's University volleyball will compete against two-seed Texas A&M-Commerce in the semifinals of the Lone Star Conference Tournament Friday at 5 p.m. on the campus of Tarleton State.

About the LSC Tournament
Tarleton State is the top seed and host after capturing the program's second LSC Championship with an 18-2 league record.
The top eight teams in the LSC will compete for the 2017 tournament championship. In addition to claiming the title, the LSC tournament winner will receive the league's automatic berth into the NCAA Division II Volleyball Championship.
The single-elimination tournament consists of four first-round matches on Thursday, followed by two semifinal games on Friday evening and the championship match on Saturday.

Commerce took down seven-seed Western New Mexico Thursday in the LSC quarterfinals in five sets to up their win streak to four and are victors in seven of their last eight matches. Jaslyn Wacker is second in the LSC in hitting percentage (.323) and fourth in blocks/set (1.11). Shelley Chapron sits third in blocks/set (1.21) and sixth in hitting percentage (.303), while Savannah Rutledge is seventh in aces/set (0.30).

Kerstin Jenkins totaled a team-high eight kills,
Katy Ranes delivered a match-high 28 assists, and
Bailey French handled a match-high 16 digs. The Pioneers (10-13, 7-7 LSC) struggled offensively with 32 kills, the lowest TWU output against a Lone Star Conference opponent this season. Meanwhile, the Lions (15-9, 10-4 LSC) did well at the net with a .396 hitting percentage, the highest output TWU has allowed from an LSC foe in 2017.
