DENTON, Texas (Nov. 9 2017) - Texas Woman's University volleyball hosts their final pair of regular season matches versus West Texas A&M Friday at 7 p.m. and UT Permian Basin Saturday at 2 p.m.
 
About the Pioneers
The Pioneers currently sit in a three-way tie for sixth place in the Lone Star Conference standings and will look to use the final two regular season contests to solidify a seed heading into the LSC Tournament taking place at No. 1 seed Tarleton State next week. Sophomore setter Katy Ranes leads the Lone Star Conference in assists per set (11.07), sophomore defensive specialist Bailey French is first in digs/set (4.99), and senior outside hitter Miri Shade is fifth in kills/set (3.03).

About the Lady Buffs
WT sits in a three-way tie for third place within the LSC standings. Before last Saturday's loss at Texas A&M-Kingsville, WT had strung together six straight wins.  Crystal Thomas is second in the league in hitting percentage (.324) and fifth in blocks per set (1.06). Selena Batiste is fourth in assists per set (9.24), Chandler Vogel is ninth in digs per set (4.22), and Erin Clark ranks 10th in kills per set (2.85).
 
History between TWU and WT
The Lady Buffs have taken 43 victories in the 51 meetings between the squads dating to the 1980 season. WT recorded a win earlier this season along with wins in both meetings in 2016, while the Pioneers earned victories in both matchups in 2015.

CANYON, Texas (Oct. 14, 2017) - Miri Shade posted a match-high 11 kills and 12 digs in her second consecutive double-double for Texas Woman's University, but West Texas A&M snapped a five-game Pioneer win streak in a 3-0 sweep (25-22, 25-21, 25-19) inside The Box Saturday afternoon.
TWU (9-10, 6-4 LSC) recorded a .180 attack percentage compared to .274 by the Lady Buffs (12-9, 6-5 LSC). Katy Ranes tossed out a match-high 36 assists, and Makayla Mayfield registered a match-high 14 digs.

UTPB has lost their past 18 matches with their last win occurring Sept. 15 over Cameron. Sarah Vasquez is fourth in the LSC in digs per set (4.72) and Kiera Granado sits eighth in assists per set (7.58).
 
History between TWU and UTPB
The two squads have met eight times dating to the 2007 season with the Pioneers holding a 5-3 edge over the Falcons. UTPB eked out two five-set victories over TWU in 2016, but the Pioneers won the first match of this season.

ODESSA, Texas (Oct. 13, 2017) - Miri Shade of Texas Woman's University collected her third double-double of the season with a game-high 11 kills and 11 digs in a 3-0 win over UT Permian Basin to push the Pioneer win streak to five Friday night inside UTPB Gym.
Courtney Noel also totaled 11 kills, Katy Ranes handed out a game-high 37 assists, and Bailey French tallied a game-high 15 digs. As a team, the Pioneers (8-9, 5-3 LSC) recorded a season-high attack percentage of .290.
