About the Pioneers
The Pioneers, chosen third in the LSC preseason poll, enter their LSC opener with an 8-5 record after competing in the Desert Stinger in Las Vegas, the North Texas Softball Bash in Grand Prairie, Texas, and hosting Oklahoma Christian Tuesday.
Nicole Nordie is second within the Lone Star Conference in hits (18) and stolen bases (7), fourth in on-base percentage (.587) and fifth in RBI (11) and batting average (.486).
Abby Walker leads the league in batters struck out (49) and batters struck out looking (15), and is fourth in opposing batting average (.181).
About the Aggies
Cameron, picked to finish sixth in the LSC, is riding a seven-game win streak and coming off of a 6-0 performance at the Lady Buff invite last weekend. Callie Busby is tops in the conference in hits (21) and doubles (7), and third in batting average (.512). Bethany Hines is number one in wins (6) and saves (2).
History amongst Texas Woman's and Cameron
The Pioneers hold a 29-15-1 all-time lead over the Aggies dating to the 1997 season, but Cameron bested TWU in three of the four meetings last year. The Pioneers have set two individual and two team records against the Aggies. On March 22, 2013, Jordan Readicker set an LSC record with three home runs and also totaled 12 bases in the contest. The team combined for six home runs during that game and set a record for walks with 11 the following day.

LAWTON, Okla. (Apr. 2, 2016) – The No. 20 TWU softball team lost its first LSC series of the season as the Pioneers dropped a pair of 4-2 decisions to the host Cameron Saturday afternoon. TWU is now 24-14 on the season and 13-7 in the Lone Star Conference.
