Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 DENTON, Texas (Feb. 17, 2017) - Tori Bice directed Texas Woman's University from the circle to their first Lone Star Conference win of 2017 in a 2-1 win over Cameron during game two of the series following a 7-6 loss to open up LSC play Friday at Pioneer Field.

Both teams went scoreless throughout the first three innings before back-to-back doubles in the fourth by Cameron brought in the first run and a single added another for a 2-0 Aggie lead. The visitors put one more on the board in the top of the fifth with a pair of singles and a sacrifice fly.
 
Alexis Elizondo tallied a walk in the bottom of the fifth and moved to second on a Morgan Harrison single to left field. A sacrifice bunt by Tara Solomon placed the runners on second and third, and Nicole Nordie sent a ball to the right field corner to score Elizondo and Harrison. Katy Stephens singled to shortstop to put Nordie on third, and Tylia Sylestine brought home Nordie and Stephens to pull ahead, 4-3. Nicole Parnell singled to left field to send around Sylestine for a 5-3 Pioneer lead.
 
CU's Sydnee Stoltz  homered to left field to open the seventh inning, and with two outs, a walk filled up the bases for the Aggies. Brenna Busby doubled to the left field wall to bring the three runners in for a 7-5 advantage.
 
In the bottom of the seventh facing two outs with Kaitlyn Johnson on second and Parnell on first, Abby Walker made her first appearance at bat as a Pioneer. Facing two strikes, the pitcher sent a deep shot to the left side for a double to score Johnson and place Parnell on third and bring TWU to within 7-6. A final groundout to the pitcher left the two Pioneers on base for the Aggie victory.
 
Walker (5-2) suffered the loss with six runs on eight hits, four walks and five strikeouts.
 
Texas Woman's 2, Cameron 1
 
Nordie placed herself in scoring contention in the bottom of the first with a double to left center and advanced to third on a groundout. Sylestine placed a bunt in front of the plate and made it to first, but Nordie was caught in a rundown between third base and home and tagged out by the catcher.
 
Aggie Kaylyn Smith looked to even the score in the top of the fourth with a single to  shortstop and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt. A fly out moved her to third, but Hazel Puempel snagged a foul ball for the third out.
 
An overthrown ball to first base by CU in the bottom of the sixth allowed Nordie to scoot to second base, and Stephens sent a shot down the left field line to score Nordie for a 1-0 TWU lead. Sylestine sailed a hit past the left fielder that allowed Stephens to make it home to put the Pioneers up, 2-0.
 
The Aggies mirrored the top of the seventh of game one with a homerun from their leadoff hitter and closed the gap to 2-1. A pop out and fly out preceded a walk to CU, and Puempel grabbed another foul ball for the final out of the evening.
 
Tori Bice (2-4) recorded the win on four hits, three walks and five strikeouts.
 
The Pioneers face Cameron in a single game tomorrow at noon at Pioneer Field.
