Norman, Okla. (February 3, 2017) - Texas Woman's University traveled to No.1 Oklahoma fora  quad meet including No .8 Denver and No. 20 Nebraska and finished fourth with a team score of 193.000.

The Pioneers started on floor exercise where they alternated competing with Oklahoma who was on vault.
Erin Alderman tumbled her way to a 9.700 for the Pioneers to set the tone for anchor
Bria Northrop who scored a 9.850. The team finished the first rotation with a 48.325 and was in second place behind the Sooners heading into rotation number two.

Lead off gymnast
Mallory Moredock led the Pioneers on vault and had the team soaring with a 9.700. Freshman
Hunter Vincent was third in the lineup and put up a 9.775 to set a new career-high. Northrop followed with a 9.800 and also recorded a career-best on the event.
Schyler Jones anchored with a 9.825 to bring the team score to a 48.825.

Jenna Cashmore was a star on the third rotation at uneven bars where she anchored and registered a 9.775. The team hit six-for-six on the event but was unable to gain much ground with a team score of 48.275, but held on to third place over Nebraska.

Balance beam was the final rotation and a rocky one as the Pioneers struggled with a few falls. Duo Northrop and Jones both scored 9.800 on their routines in the middle of the lineup, and TWU finished the event with a 47.575 to fall into fourth place in the quad.

Northrop finished tying for fourth place on floor and fifth in the all-around competition. Top-ranked Oklahoma dominated the meet with 2016 Olympic Trial Competitor Maggie Nichols scoring a perfect 10 on balance beam. This was the first 10 the Pioneers have seen in competition during the 2017 season.

TWU returns home for dual meet Sunday, Feb. 5 at 1 p.m. against fellow MIC opponent Lindenwood and will host a free youth clinic immediately following the meet.Â
