Pioneers versus Cavaliers and Cowgirls preview

LAS VEGAS (Feb. 4, 2017) – Texas Woman's University concludes play in the Desert Stinger Tournament in Las Vegas at Majestic Park Sunday with games against Concordia (Ore.) at 1:30 p.m. and New Mexico Highlands at 4 p.m. CST.

About the Pioneers
The Pioneers picked up their first two wins of 2017 with an 8-5 win over Sioux Falls and a 13-4 victory over Sonoma State Saturday. Throughout the tournament's three games, Tori Bice has collected seven hits, five RBI and a grand slam along with a win in the circle. Tylia Sylvestine leads the Pioneers with two home runs and has totaled four RBI.
 
About the Cavaliers
Concordia struggled during Day One of The Stinger by dropping a 15-1 contest to No. 18 Cal Baptist and losing to Stanislaus State, 9-4. The Cavaliers picked up their first win of the season with a 4-3 win over Augustana Saturday.
 
History amongst Texas Woman's and Concordia
This will be the first matchup between the Pioneers and Cavaliers.
 
About the Cowgirls
NMHU is in search of its first win on the season after going 0-4 during the first two days of The Stinger. The Cowgirls had a tough slate Saturday, facing second-ranked Humboldt State and No. 4 West Texas A&M.

The Pioneers lead the all-time series, 5-2, over the Cowgirls dating to 2001.

LAS VEGAS (Feb. 4, 2017) - Texas Woman's University picked up its first pair of wins on the season with an 8-5 win over Sioux Falls and a 13-4 drubbing of Sonoma State Saturday during Day Two of the Desert Stinger at Majestic Park where Tori Bice starred at the plate with six hits and five RBI, four of which came from a grand slam against SSU, and also picked up a win in the circle against the Seawolves.
