Alexis Elizondo notched the first TWU hit in the top of the second by outrunning the throw to first but was caught stealing second for the third out. A pair of sacrifice bunts by ASU resulted in a score, and a double to left field let in another runner for a 3-0 Rambelle advantage. Back-to-back singles by ASU in the fourth led to a 4-0 lead.

Tara Solomon drew a walk in the top of the sixth, and a sacrifice bunt by
Nicole Parnell pushed her to second, but consecutive fly outs ended the inning. In the bottom half, a Pioneer error and wild pitch placed the runner on third before the TWU defense turned a double play to strand the runner.
