Pioneers versus Texas-Permian Basin preview

DENTON, Texas (April 21, 2017) – Texas Woman's University hosts Lone Star Conference member Texas-Permian Basin in TWU's final home regular season series with a doubleheader Friday at 4 p.m. and single game Saturday at 1 p.m. at Pioneer Field.

About the Pioneers
TWU was slotted sixth in the first South Central Regional Poll released Wednesday with six regular season games remaining. Nicole Nordie leads the LSC in hits (69) and batting average (.479) and is second in on-base percentage (.539). Abby Walker is second in the LSC in batters struck out (111) and saves (2), and is sixth in both wins (14) and batters struck out looking (28).
 
About the Falcons
UTPB snapped a six-game losing streak Tuesday with a 6-4 win over University of the Southwest. Cindy Juarez leads the Falcons in batting average (.357), doubles (9), triples (2), home runs (8) and RBI (25).

LAS VEGAS (Feb. 8, 2014) – The TWU softball team captured two run-rule victories on Saturday at the Desert Stinger Tournament in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Pioneers defeated UT-Permian Basin, 9-1, in six innings before cruising to a 10-0 win in five innings against Colorado School of Mines.

DENTON, Texas (April 19, 2017) - Abby Walker recorded a win in the circle for Texas Woman's University in a 2-1 victory over Texas A&M International in game one of a doubleheader and notched a save in an 8-5 triumph in game two, while Nicole Nordie and Tara Solomon led the TWU offense with four hits apiece Wednesday evening at Pioneer Field.
