DENTON, Texas (April 27, 2017) – Texas Woman's University travels to its final Lone Star Conference series to face Texas A&M-Commerce Friday in a doubleheader at 3 p.m. followed by a single game Sunday at 3 p.m. at John Cain Family Softball Complex.

About the Pioneers
TWU maintained the sixth spot in this week's South Central Regional Poll released Wednesday with one week of regular season play remaining. Nicole Nordie continues to be a formidable leadoff hitter for the Pioneers as she leads the LSC in hits (75) and batting average (.487) while ranking seventh and ninth in the nation in each category, respectively. Abby Walker is second in the LSC in batters struck out (123), third in saves (3), fifth in batters struck out looking (28) and is sixth in wins (14).
 
About the Lions
A&M-Commerce grabbed the ninth spot in the second South Central Regional Poll. Kinsie Hebler leads the Lions in batting average (.415) and is tied for first in hits (59) alongside Mariah Jameyson. Jameyson is also tops in doubles (11) and home runs (16). Hebler also performs well in the circle with an ERA of 2.59 and a record of 10-3.

The Pioneers and Lions have only played two four-game series in 2015 and 2016 with TWU holding a 5-3 advantage.

DENTON, Texas (Mar. 26, 2016) – The No. 23 TWU softball team captured the series 3-1 against Texas A&M-Commerce after splitting the doubleheader Saturday afternoon.  The Pioneers run-ruled TAMUC in the first game, 9-1, in six innings before falling, 5-3, in the second.
