DENTON, Texas (April 6, 2017) – Texas Woman's University hosts Tarleton State in a Lone Star Conference series beginning Friday at 6 p.m. in a single game at Pioneer Field followed by a doubleheader Saturday at 1 p.m.

TWU took a small break from LSC action last week by hosting then-sixth ranked St. Mary's University out of the Heartland Conference. The Pioneers won the first game, 7-4, before dropping the second, 7-4. Nicole Nordie leads the LSC in hits (55), batting average (.482) and on-base percentage (.550). Abby Walker is second in the LSC in shutouts (4), third in the league in batters struck out (86) and fourth in wins (11).

TSU has won 10 out of its last 11 contests, including two wins over then-top ranked Angelo State last week. Haley Freyman is the reigning LSC Pitcher of the Week and is third in the league in saves (4) and  wins (14). Offensively, Maddie Quintanar and Nyka Wood each have team-high 53 hits, and Wood leads the conference in RBI (53) and doubles (17).

STEPHENVILLE, Texas (Mar. 5, 2016) –TWU junior pitcher Tori Bice pitched two complete games and helped the Pioneers to a doubleheader sweep at #25 Tarleton State, 5-0 and 6-5.  With the wins TWU improved to 14-8 on the season and 3-1 in the Lone Star Conference.
