LUBBOCK, Texas (Sept. 7, 2017) - Texas Woman's University volleyball plays in its second tournament of the 2017 season at the Chap Classic hosted by Lubbock Christian and will take on Southwestern Oklahoma State, LCU, Colorado Mesa and Colorado Christian Friday and Saturday.
 
About the Pioneers
TWU began its season at the Oredigger Classic hosted by Colorado School of Mines last weekend. The Pioneers dropped matches to then-No. 24 Northern State, then-No. 19 CSM, Colorado Mesa and Regis.
Senior outside hitter Miri Shade leads the Pioneers with 87 kills and ranks fourth in the Lone Star Conference in kills per set with 3.27. Sophomore setter Katy Ranes has handed out 126 assists and sits fourth in the LSC with 9.69 per set, while senior middle blocker Haley Collins has collected a team-high nine blocks for an average of .90 a set, good enough for ninth in the conference. Erin Jones and Bailey French are the Pioneer leaders in digs with 38 and 33, respectively.

SWOSU went 1-3 at the BritKare Lady Buff Classic hosted by West Texas A&M last weekend with a win against Colorado State-Pueblo and losses to WT, UT Permian Basin and Adams State.

(Oct. 14, 2010) – Junior Katelyn Osborne and freshman Chloe' Tate each had a team-high 11 kills to lead the Pioneers to a 25-21, 21-25, 25-17, and 25-20 victory over Southwestern Oklahoma. TWU improves to 7-13 overall and 4-3 in the Lone Star Conference. Osborne also added 10 digs to record her second straight double-double. Tate finished with a game-high seven blocks and .476 hitting percentage. Senior Alyson Harlan and sophomore Andrea Rivera-Rojas added eight kills each while senior Sydney Veitenheimer had a team-high 19 assists.

LCU opened the season at the Concordia-Portland Labor Day Tournament with a win over Westminster and losses to Western Oregon, Cal State Dominguez Hills and Concordia for an overall mark of 1-3.

DENTON, Texas (Sept. 3, 2016) – Texas Woman's University volleyball dropped two matches Saturday at the Hilton Garden Inn Classic, unable to duplicate their two victories yesterday by losing to Harding and Lubbock Christian at Kitty Magee Arena to conclude the two-day tournament at 2-2.
Versus Lubbock Christian (15-25, 25-18, 11-25, 18-25), Kerstin Jenkins tallied a team-best 13 kills along with 17 digs and Anna McGee added 11 kills.

The Mavericks competed in the Oredigger Classic along with the Pioneers and captured wins against Western New Mexico and TWU along with losses to Rollins and No. 15 Cal State - San Bernadino. Sophomore setter Samantha Ritter was named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Setter of the Week following the Classic.

GOLDEN, Colo. (Sept. 2, 2017) - Texas Woman's University volleyball wrapped up its opening tournament of the season at the 2017 Oredigger Classic with two losses against in-region opponents Colorado Mesa and Regis Saturday at Lockridge Arena.
The Pioneers struggled offensively against the Mavericks, amassing a .021 hitting percentage compared to .255 by CMU. Courtney Noel produced a team-high seven kills, while Haley Collins registered a game-high four blocks.
