The defending USA Gymnastics Collegiate National Champions opened the 2018 season with the highest team score in a season opener in program history by defeating MIC foe Lindenwood 193.525-191.625 Jan. 12. Senior Schlyer Jones was recognized for her efforts against LU by being named MIC Gymnast of the Week after wrapping up first place finishes on vault, beam, floor, and all-around. TWU is ranked 40
th in the country, including the top-ranked Division II team, and sits ahead of 21 Division I squads.

The 2017 NCAA National Champions opened this season at then-No. 16 Georgia Jan. 15 by posting the highest score in the nation, a 197.550. Brenna Dowell and Anastasia Webb were named the Big 12 Gymnast of the Week and Newcomer of the Week, respectively, after their performances at Georgia.

DENTON, Texas (Feb. 26, 2017) - Texas Woman's University gymnastics faced off against No. 1 Oklahoma for the second time this season and posted a 192.975 while the Sooners registered their second highest score of the season with a 198.175 as senior Katie Simpson was recognized for her efforts throughout her past four years as a Pioneer.

The Cyclones recorded a season-high score of 195.450 against then-No. 10 Arizona in their home opener Jan. 12. ISU opened the 2018 season at the Arizona Quad meet by defeating ASU, then-No. 14 Auburn and then-No. 20 Iowa with an overall score of 195.175.

DENTON, Texas (Jan. 29, 2017) – Texas Woman's University made it a nail biter for the first three rotations against the Iowa State Cyclones during the TWU gymnastics home opener, as both teams registered team season-highs, but the Pioneers came up 1.475 points short with a final score of 194.650 compared to 196.125 by the Cyclones.
