About the Pioneers
The weather has played an unavoidable factor early on into TWU's season. The series versus West Texas A&M was ultimately canceled due to unplayable field conditions and the doubleheader scheduled against Oklahoma Christian is postponed until March 7. TWU is looking for its first conference wins as the team was swept at Cameron in its first LSC series of the season.

About Western New Mexico
The lone win by the Mustangs came at the Dixie State Tournament in an 8-7 win over CSU-Pueblo.

History between TWU and WNMU
The Pioneers swept the four game series over the Mustangs last season. Before that, WNMU held a 2-0 advantage over the Pioneers with wins during the 2003 and 2007 seasons.
