TWU split a doubleheader with Missouri Western Tuesday after earning a pair of wins over Lone Star Conference opponent Texas A&M-Kingsville last week to push their league record to 5-4. Sophomore utility player Hazel Puempel ranks second in the LSC in doubles (9), fourth in stolen bases (13), and sixth in hits (31) and runs scored (27). Tylia Sylestine sits fourth in RBI (29) and fifth in home runs (8).
 
About St. Mary's
The Rattlers were winners of 12 straight, including a defeat over fourth-ranked Angelo State, before dropping their most recent contest to ASU Monday. Brenda Iparraguirre leads StMU with a .358 average on 29 hits, 26 RBI and 18 runs scored. Staci Johns has recorded a 10-2 record in the circle with a 1.89 ERA.

Hazel Puempel totaled a pair of hits, while Cheyenne Mahy picked up the win in the circle and Abby Walker secured a save for the Pioneers (5-2).
