The most recent Pioneer wins occurred in 2016 when TWU won the four-game series with three wins and then defeated ASU in the South Central Regional.

Last meeting of the Pioneers and Belles
SAN ANGELO, Texas (May 20, 2017) - The 2017 championship run for Texas Woman's University ended Saturday afternoon to the nation's top team, Angelo State, with a 6-2 loss during a resumed game two of the Super Regionals at Mayer Field.
The contest had originally begun Friday at 2 p.m. and was halted after two innings due to lightning. Following numerous delays over a five-and-half hour period, the teams were finally allowed to leave the premises and continue the game Saturday at noon. The Pioneers end the season with an overall record of 37-22, the best mark during Head Coach Genny Stidham's TWU tenure. This season marked the ninth NCAA regional appearance in program history and the second-ever trip to Super Regionals.
