About the Pioneers
TWU returns to the field after an 11-day break from competition. The Pioneers took a game from then fifth-ranked Angelo State March 24 for a 9-6 mark in Lone Star Conference play.
Jordan Kisselburg is ranked fourth in the LSC in batting average (.449), while
Hazel Puempel is fourth doubles (11), seventh in stolen bases (13), and eighth in runs scored (33).
Tylia Sylestine sits fifth in doubles (9), RBI (37), and home runs (11).

The TexAnns are one of only four 34-win teams in the NFCA rankings and boast a four-time LSC Pitcher of the Week in Jordan Withrow. The Pioneers hold a 38-30 all-time advantage over the TexAnns. Tarleton recorded a 3-0 victory earlier this season at the NCAA Division II College Classic, but TWU won all five matchups in 2018, including in the LSC Tournament and the South Central Regional.

SAN ANTONIO (Feb. 10, 2018) - Texas Woman's University softball went 1-1 at the NCAA Division II College Classic Saturday hosted by St. Mary's with a 3-0 loss versus Tarleton State and a 4-1 win against St. Edwards.
A home run by the TexAnns (8-0) in the bottom of the second provided the first run of the day for a 1-0 lead. A pair of strikeouts by
Abby Walker finished off the inning.
Another homer from TSU in the third tallied another two runs for a 3-0 advantage.
Hazel Puempel singled to center field in the top of the sixth to place
Kenzie Wilson in scoring position, but a third out left the runner stranded.
Walker (2-2) took the loss in 2.1 innings with three earned runs on five hits, two strikeouts and a walk.
