ST. CHARLES, Missouri (Feb. 15, 2019) — After a week off since its last meet, Texas Woman's Gymnastics competed at the Gymquarters Invitational against Southeast Missouri State, Lindenwood and Iowa State.
A strong team performance on Floor, that saw the Pioneers post a season-high 48.700, highlighted their team score of 190.725 for the meet.
"I thought the team looked well-rested and strong today after our week off competition," head coach
Lisa Bowerman said. "We had a great Floor rotation today and reached a season high on that event."
Erin Alderman led the way with a 9.850 on the Floor while
Isabel Goyco logged a 9.775 and
Bria Northrop a 9.750.
Hope Parkin anchored the Pioneers on Vault with a 9.825 as
Morgan Colee posted a 9.750. On Bars and Beam, it was a different story as the Pioneers struggled.
"Unfortunately, we competed tentatively on Beam and Bars, which led to mistakes," Bowerman added."
The Pioneers will remain in St. Charles for one more meet as they visited Lindenwood on Sunday at 2 p.m.
"I think the quick turnaround this weekend will be great for us," Bowerman said. "It will be a great opportunity to come out and compete the way we know we are capable of."
