SHREVEPORT, Louisiana (March 22, 2019) — The postseason began for Texas Woman's Gymnastics on Friday at the MIC Championship with the Pioneers finishing in third place with a team score of 193.775.
"I was really proud of the way the team came out and attacked beam in that first rotation," head coach
Lisa Bowerman said. "Especially after having a couple rough weeks on beam, I feel like they just really gained that confidence back and started off the meet on a high note."
The Pioneers logged their best score of the meet on Beam with a 48.725. Leading the way was
Erin Alderman who stuck a meet-high 9.875.
Bria Northrop would score a 9.800 while
Isabel Goyco posted a 9.750.
Following a bye, the Pioneers hit Floor with the trio of Alderman, Northrop and Goyco pacing the team. Alderman would finish tied for fourth with a 9.850 while Northrop tallied a 9.800 and Goyco a 9.750.
"We did hit some bumps on the road," Bowerman added. "But once again, like this team does, they continued to fight until the very end."
On Vault, Alderman posted a team-high 9.775 with
Hunter Vincent tallying a 9.725. In the final event, Vincent and
Morgan Colee anchored the Pioneers. Vincent tabbed a 9.775 while Colee notched a team-best 9.800.
At the end of the meet, the MIC announced its All-Conference Teams listed below:
