Pioneers Win on the Road

Shreveport, Louisiana (Jan.18, 2020) — Texas Woman's was on the road this weekend in Louisiana against the Ladies of Centenary College.

The team had a tough start in the first half of Bar rotation, but finished on a high note with hit routines by Isabel Goyco and Bria Northrop. The Pioneers carried the momentum into Vault, where they came away with a 47.9, followed by a 48.5 on Floor. The team finished on Beam with a season-high 48.35.

TWU's Isabel Goyco won Balance Beam, Floor Exercise and the All Around in route to a career high of a 38.85.

Coach Lisa Bowerman had this to say about the team, "I was very disappointed with how we started the meet on bars tonight. We were able to finish the meet stronger than we started, but it was definitely not the meet we needed tonight. We will get back to work in the gym this week and will be ready to show what we are truly capable of at our home opener next Sunday."

Next Sunday, January 26th, the Pioneers will compete at Kitty Magee Arena for the first time this season against Kent state, Wisconsin-Oshkosh, and Lindenwood.
