DENTON, Texas – Texas Woman's University head gymnastics coach
Lisa Bowerman announced the addition of six student-athletes who will join the Pioneers gymnastics program as part of today's National Signing Day.
Emerson Adams, AnnaKate Bickel, Delaney Bruns, Lainey Hunt, Sierra Muns, and Emily Six will all join the Pioneers for the 2021-22 school year.
"I know without a doubt that this 2021 recruiting class will be integral in continuing to build this program and to helping us reach more national championship titles, as well as our first ever NCAA post-season berth as a team," said Bowerman. "Every individual in this class has unique qualities personally and athletically that will add to the strength of our championship culture. I cannot wait to get these Pioneers on campus next fall."
Emerson Adams, a native of Valley Center, Kan., has trained at JAG Gymnastics. She has set personal bests of 9.725 on the vault, 9.700 on the bars, 9.550 on the beam, and 9.675 on the floor. She was a 2019 JO National qualifier, and finished third at the western nationals in 2017.
AnnaKate Bickel of Franklin, Tenn., joins the Pioneers after training at Gymstars Gymnastics and Let It Shine Gymnastics. Bickel also competed in diving and synchronized swimming, winning an AAU national title in synchro.
Delaney Bruns joins the Pioneers after competing for Gymstars Gymnastics and Let It Shine Gymnastics. Bruns is a native of Germantown, Tenn.
A native of The Woodlands, Texas, Lainey Hunt was the Texas State floor Champion in 2019 and a JO Nationals qualifier in 2018. She posted her best career score on the bars this past year with a 9.85, winning event titles on the bars in four of five meets. She finished in the top five in the all-around in every meet in which she competed this year.
Sierra Muns of Sicklerville, N.J., joins the Pioneers after competing for Atlantic Coast Gymnastics. She was a 2019 Junior Olympics qualifier.
A native of Waxahachie, Emily Six comes to TWU after training at Waxahachie Gymnastics. She was a Level 10 Texas State qualifier, while finishing seventh on beam and floor at the Level 9 Western Nationals.
