DENTON, Texas – The Texas Woman's University softball team will return to action this weekend, playing five games on the campus of the University of Texas at Tyler as part of the Texas A&M-Commerce/UT-Tyler Invitational.
TWU opens play at 2 p.m. Friday against Texas A&M International, and will complete Friday's action with a 6:45 contest against Arkansas-Monticello, continuing play on Saturday with a noon game against Arkansas Tech and a 4:30 matchup with host UT Tyler, and the closing the event with a game noon Sunday against No. 14 Southern Arkansas.

- "We played great teams on our opening weekend and learned a lot about ourselves as a team. This will be another challenging weekend, and I'm looking forward to the continued growth of this team."
THREE THINGS TO KNOW
- TWU saw its first action of the season this past weekend at the Arkansas Tech Winter Invitational in Conroe, Texas, picking up a pair of wins over top-10 opposition – downing defending national champion and then-No. 1 Augustana 3-2 in the season opener before closing play with a 2-1 win over No. 7 Central Oklahoma.
- The Pioneers will face off against No. 23 Arkansas Tech in a rematch from the opening weekend. TWU fell 2-1 to the Golden Suns in a hard-fought matchup that saw Avery Williams pick up three hits and Bailey Turner allow just one unearned run in four innings of work.
- Williams is hitting a team-best .353 through five games, while Bailey Tisdale was 2-0 with a 1.83 ERA over the opening weekend.
