DENTON, Texas – Three incoming student-athletes will join the Texas Woman's University Pioneer Pride dance team for the 2021-22 academic year, head coach
Allison Fields announced today. Brooke Gray, Shea Rooks, and Madi Sly have all committed to join the Pioneer Pride.
"I am thrilled to be adding such talented ladies to our 2021 roster," said Fields. "Our commits embody strength, poise, hard work, and positivity, all of which are qualities to which our team strives. 2021 is going to be a great year for Pioneer Pride Dance!"
Gray, a native of North Richland Hills and a product of Birdville High School, has competed in dance for 16 years. A first place solo winner, she serves as president of her drill team. She is also a member of National Honor Society.
Sly, a native of Fort Worth and a product of Northwest High School, is currently the captain of the Northwest Sidekicks Drill Team and has been a three-year member of that squad. A Showtime First Division Soloist, her team was named Showtime Grand Champions team and Officer Line, and Best of the Best team and Officer Line.
Rooks, a native of Garland and a product of Lakeview Centennial High School, transfers to TWU from Eastfield College. She spent four years on the varsity drill team and three years working with the dance company. An All-American Dancer for two years, she was a part of the All-American Dance Team. Her team captured WOW Factor, Sweepstakes, Gussie Nell Davis, and Gold Best Overall honors twice, Judges Award four times, as well as earning Outstanding Team, Best in Class Team, Best in Class 2020 honors, and finishing 3
rd overall in Best of the Best.
