Tabitha Spray dished out 12 assists while
Abbie Sprague pulled up 10 digs, as the Texas Woman's University volleyball team (3-7, 3-7 Lone Star Conference) fell 3-0 to No. 14 UT Tyler (12-0, 12-0) on Wednesday night at the Herrington Patriot Center.
The Pioneers dropped the match by set scores of 25-14, 25-8, 25-8.
The opening set was back-and-forth through the opening points, with the teams battling to a 9-9 tie. However, the Patriots claimed the lead with a 8-1 run and held that momentum through the end of the set and beyond.
Elizabeth Ugbaja led the Pioneers with four kills, while Spray's assist total and Sprague's dig totals were the only TWU players to reach double figures in those categories.
The Pioneers will conclude the regular season on Tuesday, March 16 and Wednesday, March 17 with a pair of matches at Texas A&M-Commerce. Both matches are slated to begin at 6 p.m.
