Box Score DENTON, Texas - The Texas Woman's University volleyball team (4-5) fell in its final match before opening Lone Star Conference play, dropping a 3-0 decision to East Central (2-8) on Tuesday night at Kitty Magee Arena. 

The Pioneers dropped the sets by scores of 25-19, 25-17, and 25-14. 

Lizzy Reed dished out a team-high 17 assists, while Sydney Stroh added 15 digs. Trixie Oche and Jessica Freehill had a team-high four kills apiece. The Pioneers held a 6-3 advantage in blocks, with Freehill taking part in a team-best three. 

TWU opens Lone Star Conference play this weekend, facing St. Edward's on Friday, Sept. 16 and St. Mary's on Saturday, Sept. 17. Friday's match is slated for a 6 p.m. start, while Saturday's match begins at 2 p.m.
