TWU VOLLEYBALL HEADS TO UT TYLER FOR AN ALL-TIME SERIES TIE BREAKER

DENTON, Texas, (Oct. 13, 2022) - Texas Woman's (12-8, 3-5) volleyball is on the road for a Lone Star Conference weekend matchup against UT Tyler (12-7,5-3) in the Louise Herrington Patriot Center on Oct. 14 at 5 p.m.
 
The Pioneers ended last weekend with a split, dominating Cameron (5-18, 0-8) in a sweep Friday night and losing to West Texas A&M (16-4, 8-0) in four sets Saturday afternoon. 
 
With a conference record of 3-5, the Pioneers are halfway through the conference season. They have five road matches and three home games left before postseason.
 
The series matchup between the Patriots and the Pioneers is split at 5-5, dating back to the first matchup between the teams on Sep. 2, 2006. 
 
In the previous five matchups, UT Tyler has since defeated the Pioneers with five straight wins. Last season, the Patriots took the home court advantage, beating the Pioneers 3-1 on Oct. 29, 2021.
 
The Patriots are ranked number five in the Lone Star Conference with a team hitting percentage of .208. The Pioneers currently have the Patriots beat at the net in blocks, averaging 2.20 blocks per set.
