DENTON, Texas (Oct. 17, 2022) - Texas Woman's (12-9, 3-6) volleyball weathered the storm against two of the Lone Star Conference's top opponents this past weekend. The Pioneers faced UT Tyler (14-7, 7-3) on Friday, Oct. 14, and Dallas Baptist (19-3, 10-1) on Saturday, Oct. 15. 
 
After two tough losses on the road, the Pioneers are 1-4 this season in away games and are looking to improve their road record this Wednesday, Oct. 19 against the Midwestern State (4-18, 2-8) Mustangs. First serve is slated for 6 p.m. in the D.L. Ligon Coliseum in Wichita Falls, TX. 
 
In their last meeting on Sep. 10, 2022, the Pioneers took three of four sets from the Mustangs in a 3-1 win during the LSC Crossover Tournament. 
 
With a total of 11 blocks, the Pioneers held the Mustangs to a hitting percentage of .113. 
 
The Pioneers lead the all-time series 41-16 and have recorded a seven-game winning streak against the Mustangs. Their longest win streak was 12 matches from Sep. 10, 2011, until Nov. 1, 2016. 
 
Offensively, the Pioneers have averaged 11.79 kills per set. Tori Woods is leading the Pioneers in kills with a season high of 194 kills. She averages 2.51 kills per set. 
 
Trixie Oche was a standout Friday night against UT Tyler. Oche made nine hitting attempts and registered seven kills for a .667 hitting percentage.
