DENTON, Texas (Oct. 3, 2022) - Texas Woman's volleyball is set to take on Lubbock Christian for a road conference matchup. First serve is slated to begin at 6 p.m. on Oct. 5.Â
After settling in with a five-set victory over Eastern New Mexico on Wednesday, Sept. 28, the Pioneers now sit at a 2-3 Lone Star Conference record.Â
The Greyhound's strategically held the Pioneers at a .047 hitting percentage which stalled the Pioneer offense throughout the match. Seven aces were recorded that night for the Pioneers and aided in their victory. Pressure from the service line will be critical in Wednesday's match against LCU.Â
Wednesday's matchup marks the seventh meeting between the Pioneers and the Lady Chaps. Beginning in 1984, the Pioneers have won four of the seven matches against LCU. Â
Last season, the Pioneers had a home court advantage on Oct. 16, 2021 against the Lady Chaps. They walked away with one set, losing in four to LCU.
Cara Pool heads into Wednesday's match after recording three season highs of 12 points, two aces, and six blocks against the Greyhounds. Pool led the match last season against LCU with eight blocks for the Pioneers.Â
