DENTON, Texas (Nov. 15, 2022) – It's basketball time in Denton! The Texas Woman's basketball team plays their home opener tomorrow night in Kitty Magee Arena against Harding.

TWU (2-0) will tip off with Harding (0-2) on Wednesday night in KMA.

Over the weekend, the Pioneers went undefeated in their season openers at the Conference Challenge hosted by Western Colorado. TWU defeated the host Mountaineers and MSU Denver.

Harding, in their opening weekend, went 0-2, losing to Emporia State by one point and to #19 Missouri Southern by two points.

The Bison and the Pioneers will meet for the eighth time in program history, but for just the fourth time in Denton. Last season, the teams met for the first time since 2011 at a neutral site, San Angelo, Texas, and the Bison won 64-56.
TWU will look to turn the tides and defeat Harding at home in KMA.

KMA KEYS TO WIN
  • KEEP UP THE DEFENSE: In their first two games, the Pioneers held their opponent to single-digit scoring in at least one quarter. Against Western Colorado, TWU held the Mountaineers to just four points in the first quarter. The Pioneers, on Saturday, held MSU Denver to just five points in the third quarter. TWU will look to limit the scoring of the Bison on Wednesday night.
  • MAKE THEM TURN IT OVER: In their loss against Emporia State, Harding turned the ball over 31 times. Then, against Missouri Southern, they turned the ball over 14 times. TWU will look to play lockdown defense and force Harding into turnovers.
  • ALL INVOLVED: TWU saw every player who took the court score in their second game. The diversified scoring helped lead the Pioneers to win. Look for every Pioneer to be involved on offense and defense to lead the Pioneers to the win over Harding.
