DENTON, Texas (Dec. 12, 2022) – The reigning USA Gymnastics National Champions, Midwest Independent Conference Champions and National Academic Champions will look to record another record-breaking season in 2023.

Lisa Bowerman said. "Our schedule will give us an opportunity to compete at the highest level week in and week out, which will in turn prepare us for post season."
Speaking of strong competition, the Pioneers will face 11 programs who are ranked in the top 36 of the
WCGA Preseason Poll. Among those 11, TWU will go against three top 10 teams: Oklahoma (1), Florida (2) and Missouri (9).
The Pioneers will officially begin their season on the road at a tri-meet hosted by the University of Denver, which includes Penn State University, on January 8. After the trip to Colorado, the Pioneers will travel to Tucson, Arizona on January 14 to compete in a quad meet with the University of Arizona, University of Illinois and Bowling Green State University.
TWU will return home for their 2023 home opener on Friday, January 20. The Pioneers will host a quad meet featuring Centenary College, Air Force Academy and the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire.
To close the month of January, the Pioneers will go on two road trips. On January 27, TWU will compete against Southeast Missouri State University in a dual meet before closing the month at a tri-meet with Lindenwood University and the University of Missouri on January 29.
The month of February will begin with a home meet in Kitty Magee Arena, as the Pioneers host Iowa State University and the University of New Hampshire on Sunday, February 5.
TWU will be on the road at Centenary on February 10. Then, they will return to Denton for a two-meet home stand. The Pioneers will host the University of Oklahoma on Sunday, February 9, and West Virginia University on Sunday, February 26.
On March 4, TWU will compete in the Rose City Classic in Tyler, Texas. Finally, the Pioneers will close out the regular season at home on Sunday, March 12 against the University of Florida, the University of Washington and NC State University.
Postseason will begin on the road for the Pioneers, as they travel to Southeast Missouri State for the MIC Championships on Friday, March 17.
The 2023 season will end with the USAG Women's Collegiate National Championships hosted at TWU in Kitty Magee Arena on April 6-8.
