DENTON, Texas (Feb. 12, 2022) – After opening their season on the road, the Texas Woman's University softball team returns home to play their home opener against Dallas Christian College.
TWU (1-4) will play at Dianne Baker Field at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. on Saturday afternoon against Dallas Christian (0-2).

ROUND THE BASES
- FIRST BASE: The Pioneers are fast. In their first five games, they were strong at running the bases, especially stealing bases. Nya Brown currently leads the Pioneers with five stolen bases on the season.
- SECOND BASE: Throughout opening weekend, the Pioneers improved each game in the batter's box from getting hits to also not being afraid to take pitches. In their win over Southern Nazarene University, the Pioneers recorded nine hits. Nya Brown currently leads TWU with seven hits on the season, and Alexys Ginegaw comes in second with four.
- THIRD BASE: Limiting the errors with be key in today's match-up. In the Pioneers win over Southern Nazarene, they only committed one error, which helped lead to the win.
- HOME PLATE: If the Pioneers combine these three keys, they will round the bases, score runs and win two games today.
