ADA, Okla. (Feb. 14, 2022) – Roses are red. Violets are blue. Softball is happening tomorrow—they play ECU.  

Today Feb. 14 is Valentine's Day and what better way to continue the celebration tomorrow than supporting Texas Woman's University softball?

TWU (3-4) will travel to Ada, Oklahoma on Tuesday, Feb. 15 to play a doubleheader against East Central University (1-4) at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.

This past weekend, the Pioneers recorded their first sweep of the season, scoring a combined 25 runs against Dallas Christian College. TWU will look to ride take their winning energy to ECU on Tuesday.

WAYS TO WIN

• HEART EYES: On Saturday, the Pioneers loved making big hits. Paige Tamayo led the Pioneers with six hits and six RBIs on the day, including an in-park home run. Connecting on big hits will help lead the Pioneers to the win on Tuesday. 
• BIG GIFT, NO ERROR: TWU's defense was strong against Dallas Christian. The Pioneers only committed one error in two games and only gave up one run. Limiting their errors and playing connected on defense will help the Pioneers win two games against the Tigers of East Central. 
• DON'T GO STEALING MY HEART: One of the Pioneers strengths early on this season has been their ability to run the bases. Across their two games this past weekend, TWU stole a combined eight bases. In game one, Lily Wilson and Kristin Rodriguez each stole two and Briana Yale stole one. In game two, Nya Brown, Rylee Lara and Wilson each stole one.
