PIONEER POWER
- STRONG BATS: The Pioneers strength in their Game 2 win against East Central was their multiple hitting threats. Paige Tamayo and Missy Wise both hit home runs. Nya Brown and Briana Yale hit doubles and Lilly Wilson added a single. The Pioneers diversified hitting abilities helped lead them to the 9-1 win and will be key in Saturday's game against Ottawa.
- SOLID DEFENSE: In the second game against the Tigers, the Pioneers defense only allowed one run and committed zero errors. Jules Malis pitched for the Pioneers and struck out five batters in five innings. TWU will look to play strong defense against Ottawa on Saturday.
- STEALING IS GOOD: TWU once again flexed their speed and ability to run the bases to get into scoring position. In their Game 2 win, four different Pioneers stole bases – Nya Brown, Lily Wilson, Da'Jia Davis and Kristin Rodriguez all recorded stolen bases. The Pioneers speed will be a key strength in Saturday's game.
