DENTON, Texas (April 23, 2022) – Saturday, April 23 marks the final home game of the regular season for the Texas Woman's University softball team.
TWU (10-31, 5-21 Lone Star Conference) will play No. 5 Texas A&M University – Kingsville (39-8, 19-7) at Dianne Baker Field at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.
The two games will mark four games the Pioneers will have played in the past two days. Yesterday, Friday, April 22, TWU played Texas A&M International University and split the series with the Dustdevils, winning the second game 10-3.
TAMUK also played on Friday as well. The Javelinas swept Midwestern State University, scoring 12 runs in two games.

SENIOR CELEBRATION
- STRAIGHT SPEED: Yesterday, in game two, the Pioneers stole four bases. Nya Brown stole two bases in the Pioneers win. With those two bases, Brown increased her season total to 27 bases, which ranks fifth in the Lone Star Conference. TWU will have to utilize their speed against the Javelinas on Saturday.
- DOUBLE TROUBLE: In their game two win over Texas A&M International, the Pioneers hit four doubles in the game. Kristin Rodriguez hit two doubles, and Alexys Ginegaw and Nya Brown each hit one double. The Pioneers will need to continue to hit well against TAMUK.
- DOUBLE DIGIT HITS: In their win, the Pioneers recorded 10 hits. It was the sixth time this season TWU recorded double digit hits. When the Pioneers record 10 or more hits, they have won nine out of ten times. TWU will look to record 10 or more hits against the Javelinas on Saturday.
