FOR THE LOVE OF THE GAME
- The above statement has been the mantra for TWU Softball all season and the answer to their WHY? In the final game of the regular season, the Pioneers need to remember why they play and channel that love against Midwestern State.
- DEFENSE: While both teams recorded the same result against Texas A&M International, the Mustangs gave up seven runs in their win to the Dustdevils, while the Pioneers only gave up three. Defense will be key for the Pioneers, as they look to limit mistakes to get the win on Saturday. They will also look for big battles from their pitchers to help lead them to the win.
- TO THE MOON: Against the No. 3 team in the nation, Texas A&M - Kingsville, Jalee McDonald crushed a home run over the left field fence. Including McDonald, TWU has had six different athletes hit homers this season. Paige Tamayo leads the Pioneers with three home runs on the season. Look for the Pioneers to close the regular season with a bang on Saturday.
- ON THE ROAD AGAIN: The Pioneers have won four games on the road this season and went into extra innings in one game on the road this season. TWU has the ability to be road warriors. They have beat the Mustangs 23 times over the course of 18 years of meetings.
