DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The Texas Woman's University Pioneer Pride dance team will compete in Friday's national championship competition after turning in a third place finish in the team preliminary competition today at the NCA & NDA Collegiate Cheer and Dance Championships. 

The Pioneer Pride turned in a seventh-place finish in the Jazz prelims with a score of 86.2571, however, TWU's 86.2200 placed third in the team competition and advanced TWU to the team final. Davenport (89.840) finished first in the preliminary with Tarleton State (87.200) finishing just ahead of the Pioneer Pride. 

The team division allows teams to compete in routines of 2:15 or less, containing 30 seconds of each genre - Jazz, Pom, and Hip Hop. 

Friday's team final begins at 1:21 EST and will be streamed online at varsity.com.
