Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 PORTALES, N.M. – Lily Wilson went 3-for-4 in the nightcap with a pair of doubles, but the Texas Woman's University softball team (9-24, 4-18 Lone Star Conference) dropped both ends of a twinbill at Eastern New Mexico (12-27,5-17), falling 4-3 in the opener and 4-2 in the finale.
 
In the opener, the Pioneers jumped ahead 1-0 in the second inning after an error, but ENMU came back to knot the game in the bottom of the frame. The tie held until inning number five when Gracelyn Taylor hit a two-run single that gave TWU a 3-1 lead, but the Greyhounds responded with single runs in the fifth and sixth innings to tie the game at three, and scored the winning run on an error in the bottom of the seventh.
 
Jules Malis took the loss after surrendering three runs, two earned on eight hits in 4.2 innings of work. Taylor had a pair of hits in the loss.
 
In the finale, ENMU scored runs in the first and second to jump ahead 2-0 before TWU was able to get on the board in the top of the third inning on an RBI single by Paige Tamayo. However, the Greyhounds answered with a pair in the fourth to extend their lead to 4-1.
 
TWU used an RBI double by Wilson in the seventh to cut the final deficit to 4-2.
 
Kelsie Briggs took the loss after allowing four runs, all earned, in five innings of work.
 
TWU concludes its road swing on Sunday with a noon doubleheader at West Texas A&M.
