TWU RECEIVE HIGHEST RANKING IN PROGRAM HISTORY AT NO. 9 IN WBCA

DENTON, Texas (Jan. 18, 2023) – For the first time in program history, the Texas Woman's basketball team entered the Top 10 of the Women's Basketball Coaches Association NCAA Division II Top 25 Poll.

Yesterday, the D2SIDA polls were released, and the Pioneers ranked No. 1 in the South Central Region and No. 7 in National Poll.

TWU (15-1, 10-0) cracked the Top 10 in the WBCA Poll this week at No. 7.

The Pioneers are the highest-ranked South Central Regional team on the WBCA Poll. They are joined by No. 17 West Texas A&M, whom they will meet tomorrow night, and No. 19 Colorado School of Mines.

TWU remains the only undefeated team in the Lone Star Conference, and they have not lost a game since Wednesday, Nov. 16.

The WBCA is typically released on Tuesdays, but was delayed to Wednesday this week.

The Pioneers will be at home in KMA this week. They will play West Texas A&M on Thursday, Jan. 18 at 6 p.m. and Lubbock Christian on Saturday, Jan. 21 at 2 p.m.
