DENTON, Texas (Jan. 19, 2023) – The Texas Woman's Gymnastics team finally returns home to Denton for their 2023 home opener in Kitty Magee Arena.
After starting out the season with two meets on the road, the Pioneers return home to host a quad meet featuring Centenary, Air Force and Wisconsin – Eau Claire.
TWU has steadily improved in every meet. Last week at Arizona, they placed third at the meet, defeating Bowling Green with a team score of 193.7500.

- Tickets for the home meet can be purchased here.
- We will be honoring cancer awareness in partnership with Cancer Support Community of North Texas. They will have a table at the meet with more information about their organization. They will also be accepting donations here.
- Fans will also have the opportunity to honor cancer awareness by wearing a color ribbon. Ribbons will be at a table near the entrance to the meet.

HOME SWEET HOME
- KMA ENERGY: The Pioneers highest team score in a home opener is a 194.650. Last week, TWU scored a 193.7500. The Pioneers were led by Daisy Woodring on vault with a 9.800, Brooke Ferrari on bars with a 9.7500, Ruby Goad on the beam with a 9.800 and Mara Johnson on floor with a 9.8250. The Pioneers will look to continue to improve in front of their home crowd on Friday night.
- LOOK BACK: The Pioneers have a 29-2 all time record against Centenary. Last season, the Pioneers scored a 194.825 against Centenary on the road. Against Air Force, TWU is 8-3 all time with a 4-1 record against the Falcons at home. The Pioneers last met Air Force in KMA on March 6, 2022 and scored a 195.725. Tomorrow night will mark the first meeting between TWU and Wisconsin – Eau Claire.
- A LOOK AT THE OPPONENTS: Centenary has competed in one meet this season. Against Southeast Missouri and Greenville, Centenary scored a 188.30. Air Force began their season on Monday, Jan. 16, scoring a 194.150 against San Jose State. Wisconsin – Eau Claire joins TWU as the other team with two meets already competed in the 2023 season. They scored a 178.675 and a 183.575.
