DENTON, Texas (Oct. 21, 2023) – The Texas Woman's volleyball team returns to action today in KMA against Dallas Baptist at 2 p.m.
TWU (14-6, 6-3) played last night in KMA, falling in four sets to UT Tyler. DBU (15-6, 8-2) also played last night. The Lady Patriots faced Midwestern State on the road and won in three straight sets.
DBU has lost two Lone Star Conference matches, falling to Texas A&M – Kingsville and Texas A&M International. Including last night, the Pioneers have lost three LSC matches and just one in KMA. The Patriots and Pioneers will meet for the 39th time on Saturday afternoon and 17th time in KMA.

BACK-TO-BACK
- HISTORY: Saturday marks the 39th meeting between the Pioneers and the Lady Patriots. TWU is 10-6 all time in KMA, but the Pioneers have not won at home since 2018. Their last meeting in Denton, Texas was in 2021, and TWU fell in four sets. TWU has lost the last four meetings to DBU and are 2-5 in LSC matchups.
- LAST NIGHT: Against UT Tyler last night, the Pioneers were led in offense by Cara Pool with 14 kills and Tori Woods with 12 kills. DBU was led in offense against Midwestern State by Delaney Fuller and Karly Wells – both with 16 kills each. In three sets, DBU hit .200 with 46 kills, had two aces, nine blocks, 44 assists and 60 digs. In four sets, TWU hit .229 with 51 kills, 6 aces, 1 block 48 assists and 69 digs. TWU held UT Tyler to hitting .181, while DBU held Midwestern State to hitting .160.
- KEY LSC STATS LOOK: The Pioneers top the Lady Patriots in kills, as they rank second with 13.86 per set, and in assists, ranking second with 12.93 per set. The Lady Patriots rank third in assists with 12.67 per set. In hitting percentage, TWU ranks third (.257) and DBU ranks fifth (.228). In service aces, DBU ranks first in the LSC with 2.15 per set, and TWU narrowly ranks second, averaging 1.9 per set. The Lady Patriots rank second in the LSC in blocks, averaging 2.37 per set.
