BILLINGS, Mont. (Nov. 4, 2023) – After starting their season with a one point win over Montana State Billings last night, the Texas Woman's basketball has a quick turnaround and will meet No. 2 Minnesota State Mankato on Saturday afternoon.
TWU (1-0) has never met Minnesota State Mankato (1-0). The Mavericks opened their season yesterday at the Tipoff Classic against Florida Tech, winning their season opener 83-44.
The two teams will meet at 1:15 p.m. CST in Montana on Saturday afternoon.

- MAVERICKS ON FRIDAY: In their dominating win on Friday night, the Mavericks had three players score in double-digits. They were led by No. 5 Natalie Bremer with 15 points, and No. 40 Emily Herzberg and No. 14 Destinee Bursch added 13 points in the win. The Mavericks shot 50.7% from the field, 23.8% from the three and 52.6% from the free throw line. The led for the entirety of the game.
- PROTECT THE ROCK: In their win yesterday, the Mavericks forced Florida Tech into 34 turnovers and scored 35 points off those turnovers. In the Pioneers win, they committed 13 turnovers for 15 MSUB points, protecting the ball and forcing the Mavericks into turnovers will be key for TWU.
- BATTLE IN THE PAINT: TWU scored 42 points in the paint last night, shooting 54.7% from the field. Minnesota State Mankato finished the night with 46 points in the paint. The battle between the bigs of TWU and the Mavericks will play a key role in the game this afternoon.
