TWU HOSTS OKLAHOMA TODAY FOR DUAL MEET

DENTON, Texas (Feb. 19, 2023) – The Texas Woman's gymnastics team returns home to Kitty Magee Arena for a Sunday afternoon meeting with Oklahoma.
 
Most recently, TWU competed on the road against fellow Midwest Independent Conference opponent, Centenary, on Feb. 10. The Pioneers won the meet.
 
They return home today to host the reigning 2022 NCAA National Champions, Oklahoma.
 
Oklahoma most recently competed in the Metroplex Challenge in Fort Worth, Texas, winning the meet with a 198.125.
 
The Pioneers will meet the Sooners for their 20th meeting in program history.

A LOOK AT THE SOONERS
  • ROAD TO NATIONALS: Oklahoma returns to KMA as the 2022 NCCA National Champions. They currently rank No. 1 in the nation - 1st on vault, 2nd on bars, 3rd on beam and 2nd on floor. The Sooners rank highest on vault. They have three gymnasts with season-highs of a 9.750 on the event – Allie Stern, Katherine Lavasseur and Jordan Bowers.  
  • SEASON BEST: Their season high is a 198.425, which they scored at Denver on Sunday, Jan. 29. Their season-high on vault is a 49.650, on bars is a 49.675 (which they have hit twice), on beam is a 49.725, and on floor is a 49.675.  
  • A LOOK BACK: The Sooners last came to Denton on March 6, 2022. At that meet, the Pioneers scored a 195.725 and OU scored a 198.075.
